Kro Produksjon is the first hood manufacturer to deliver a kitchen hood with Lynx Kitchen as a system solution
Kro Produksjon is the first hood manufacturer to deliver a kitchen hood and Lynx Kitchen as one system solution. Lynx is built into the hood from the start. The solution is shown for the first time at VVS-dagene at Nova Spektrum in Lillestrøm, Norway, 14 to 16 October.

Many in the market have asked for the same thing: A kitchen hood where grease separation is part of the hood, not something that has to be planned and installed separately. Now it exists.
Kro Produksjon has built a hood with room for Lynx Kitchen in the exhaust chamber. Lynx separates the grease in the hood, before it enters the duct. The grease is collected and drained. The hood and the separator are delivered as one solution.
One solution to specify and install

For the design engineer, this means one hood to specify, instead of two products that must be fitted together. For the contractor, it means one unit to install. For the building owner, it means a hood that keeps the grease out of the duct. Duct cleaning, fire protection and heat recovery can then be planned for a duct without grease, not for a duct that must be cleaned.
Kro was quick to see the opportunity
Kro Produksjon develops and manufactures ventilation products in its own facilities in Oslo, with custom work as its strength. That makes it possible to adapt a hood quickly. Kro and Lynx Kitchen met at Driftskonferansen, a Norwegian building operations conference, in September. From the moment Kro decided to build the hood for the fair until it was finished, less than a week passed.
“We have long waited for a hood manufacturer that wants to take the step from component to system solution. Kro thinks in new ways, they make decisions quickly, and they have their own production. We believe Kro is one of the best partners we could have worked with,” says Sondre K. Jacobsen of Lynx Kitchen.
“Our customers ask for solutions, not individual parts. With Lynx built in, we can deliver a hood that keeps the grease out of the duct,” says Richard Waren, sales manager at Kro Produksjon.
Documented in operation
Lynx Kitchen has been in operation for five years. Oslo Airport Gardermoen requires that no grease enters the ventilation ducts from the restaurant kitchens. So far, Lynx Kitchen is the only equipment that has documented that it meets this requirement over time.
The whole chain is involved
Four companies stand behind the system solution. Kro Produksjon makes the hood. Lynx Kitchen provides the technology. Mælen Blikk og Ventilasjon manufactures and installs Lynx. Solva provides design engineering and fire safety consulting.
See the system solution at VVS-dagene
VVS-dagene, the Norwegian trade fair for HVAC and building services, takes place from 14 to 16 October at Nova Spektrum in Lillestrøm, near Oslo. You will find us at stand D03-38. There we show the Kro hood with Lynx, and a transparent Lynx where you can watch the grease being separated while the unit runs.
We would like to meet design engineers, building owners and property managers, contractors and kitchen suppliers. We would also like to meet companies in the Nordic countries that want to scale up and have a network in their market. Entry is free, and tickets can be downloaded at vvsdagene.no. The coffee is ready.
