Thank you to NemiTek for Driftskonferansen

Driftskonferansen took place on board Color Magic between Oslo and Kiel from 9 to 11 September. NemiTek organises it, and we took part as a co-exhibitor together with Mælen Blikk og Ventilasjon and Solva AS.

We brought a full-size transparent Lynx Kitchen unit. It is built so people can see inside: the grease hits the chamber walls while the unit runs, and no explanation is needed to understand what is happening. We also had two roll-ups, a handout and a coffee grinder. The coffee was the gimmick. The separator was the point.

On Thursday 10 September, Sondre Jacobsen gave a talk to the full assembly under the title «Grease in the duct is not a cleaning problem. It is a design problem.» The presentation is openly available at lynxkitchen.no/driftskonferansen2026 for anyone who wants the whole thing.

What we pointed at most was the second roll-up. It places today's industry standard next to the requirement Avinor Gardermoen has set, and counts up what each choice costs. Eight steps with a cost on one side, one on the other.

The most important thing about a conference like this is not the stand. It is that the right people are on the same boat for three days. We arranged meetings with organisations we have been trying to reach for more than five years. What we had not managed by phone and email sorted itself out in ten-minute conversations at a desk. We also made contact with several organisations we had not spoken to before, among them a heat exchanger manufacturer directly relevant to our work on heat recovery from kitchen exhaust.

We are now following up concrete enquiries and orders. We are not saying who, for the same reason nobody else does. But one practical point is worth mentioning: the units are built by hand in Trondheim, and capacity is not unlimited. If you want Lynx in place before Christmas, it pays to get in touch soon.

This should be said plainly: without NemiTek we would not have had that platform. We are a small company with a technology that is hard to explain in an email and easy to understand when it is sitting on the table. An industry conference is the one occasion each year where that difference can be put to use. Thank you to Henrik Sakshaug, Martine Singsaas Frøseth and the rest of NemiTek for a well-run programme, and for making room for us.

Next stop is VVS-dagene at NOVA Spektrum in Lillestrøm, 14 to 16 October, also organised by NemiTek. There we will lean harder on design and heat recovery, which is the question building owners actually ask.
